Adventure surely is in the eye of the beholder. Some people find adventure in dining; some from shopping. And some people need to do things like 2,000 metre rope-less mountain climbing followed by a base-jump back down into a raging river.
Whatever your definition of adventure is, Nepal can satisfy it, and then some.
The classic Nepal adventure of course is based on trekking, and there is no doubt that a medium to long distance trek is a fantastic way to taste some real adventure.
For those who like to let their tastebuds be the adventurers, there is an amazing amount and diversity of traditional and foreign restaurants available all over Nepal, but especially in Kathmandu. For REAL Nepali food though you'll have to head for the hills and take in some authentic village cuisine.
Rafting and/or kayaking is another very popular and great fun adventure, especially multi day river expeditions that camp in parts of Nepal not even accessible by foot!
For more experienced adventurers, Nepal obviously has all the mountain climbing you could ever dream of. Ahem... Everest anyone?
There are all manner of adrenaline activities, such as Bungee Jumping, Canyoning, Paragliding, etc. and these can also be strung together as a white knuckled multi day adventure holiday.
If a jungle adventure is your dream, look no further than Chitwan National Park, where you're able to safari on elephant-back into a rich habitat inhabited by monkeys, antelope, rhinos, and even tigers! Plus thousands of bird species as well.
For the endurance sportspeople out there, Nepal has an amazing array of mountain and ultra distance running events, plus some actual 'adventure' races that combine trail running, Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Climbing, etc!
